Abigail (Abby) Burrows

Founder & Principal Consultant

After changing course from a start in teaching, Abby spent the first decade of her career in Washington, DC at a science education research organization and in independent evaluation work before moving to Rhode Island where she became immersed with local non-profits. As a board member, a staff member, and a consultant, she has observed the need for better access to down-to-earth support for practical impact monitoring. Empirical Nature took root in its current form in 2019 and is ever-evolving to meet this challenge.

She is an alumna of Syracuse University with a degree in Geography, focused on physical systems and a minor in Physics, and holds a Certificate of Education for the Environment and Community from the University of Washington. She currently serves on the board of the Rhode Island Environmental Education Association.
